Something very worthwhile, actually. Our very own local PTA people lobbying USDA for better school lunches. And making nice analogies (calcium is to strawberry milk as vitamin C is to screwdrivers).
(What a refreshing change from last year, when the school’s Foundation sold our kids to a marketing company so they could gather intelligence on the best way to sell overprocessed nastiness to other kids. We’re too smart to let *our* kids eat that stuff, but we’ll take money to let them tell Armour how to sell it to less privileged kids.)
Back to the positive: the school’s health and nutrition committee has promising leadership this year, including one of those testifying this week. (Watch it on TV)
